SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

As a result of the U.S. Supreme Court Decision in Obergefell v. Hodges in June, 2015 and even prior under New York’s Marriage Equality Act passed in 2011, same-sex couples are able to legally marry and must consider the legal implications of such personal relationships. This may involve prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, shared financial interests, family planning matters such as adoption or surrogacy, and issues of marriage dissolution and divorce.
